Boston Squash ("Boston Squash," "we," "us," or "our") operates bostonsquash.com (the "Site"), where you can learn about our squash lessons, camps, and clinics, and purchase merchandise. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or make a purchase on the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Boston Squash is a squash coaching business operated by Ryan Mach, offering lessons, camps, and clinics at locations across Greater Boston (Boston Seaport, Cambridge/Somerville/Medford, Belmont, and Concord), along with an online merchandise shop. You can reach us using the contact details in Section 12.
We do not knowingly collect any payment card numbers, and we never ask for your password to any other service.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your shipping address or order details for advertising purposes.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site and fulfill orders, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business (in which case we'd ensure your information continues to be protected).
The Site uses Google Analytics, which places cookies and similar technologies in your browser to help us understand aggregate visitor behavior (such as which pages are viewed and for how long). Google Analytics does not receive your name, address, or order details from us.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's cookie/privacy settings to block cookies generally. Blocking cookies won't prevent you from browsing or purchasing on the Site.
Separately, your shopping cart is stored using your browser's local storage rather than a cookie — this is what lets items stay in your cart as you move between pages.
We keep order and shipping information for as long as needed to fulfill your order, handle any follow-up questions, and maintain reasonable business records (for example, for accounting purposes). Contact and booking form submissions are kept as long as reasonably needed to respond to your inquiry. You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see Section 8.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you provide. Payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal using industry-standard security practices — we never see or store your full payment details. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details in Section 12 — as a small local business, we handle these requests personally and will respond promptly.
The Site and our merchandise shop are intended for use by adults making purchases (for example, a parent ordering gear for a young player). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Our lesson and clinic programs do serve youth players, but registration/payment information for those programs is collected from a parent or guardian, not from the child directly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate parental involvement, please contact us and we will delete it.
Boston Squash is based in Massachusetts, USA, and the Site is hosted in the United States. Our merchandise shop is able to ship internationally, which means we may collect and process shipping information from customers outside the US.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with its own data protection laws, please note that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as your home country. By using the Site and providing your information, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the EEA or UK, you additionally have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, and the rights described in Section 8 apply to you as well (including rights under the GDPR to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to data portability).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as our shop or the services we use change. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
